Dear Pau-Wa-Lu Families,
My name is Guy Olguin and I am so excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School. I am honored to have been selected to join the Douglas County School District, which is known for its dedication to excellence, but more importantly, to students. Over the past 28 years, I have worked as a teacher and administrator, but I consider my most important job to be that of a student advocate. I will spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. I will celebrate their successes, small and large. I will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community.
Along with the staff and parents, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and community partners. Together we will focus on rigorous and relevant instruction, emphasize academic, social, and emotional growth, and provide exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities that focus on assuring the rigor of instruction in meeting the Common Core Learning Standards.
During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide the students the best opportunities in preparing for the world, ready to master challenges placed in their path. As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss your concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this year the best it can be!
Once again, I am so thankful to have the opportunity to bring all that I have experienced and learned with me to your Pau-Wa-Lu community. I look forward to getting to know you and your children. I will be working most days this summer to ensure a smooth transition and opening on August 13. Please stop by to say hello. We will also be having an Orientation program at Pau-Wa-Lu on August 9 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. I look forward to meeting you there.
As I will say from now on…Go Panthers!!,
Guy Olguin, Principal
Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School
