PBIS Expectation Matrix

AT PAU-WA-LU, WE ARE SAFE, RESPECTFUL, AND RESPONSIBLE

PBIS = Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports
Below is our school's PBIS Behavior Expectation Matrix. Our classrooms each also have their own matrices.

PWL Behavior Expectations

Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program promotes a culture of being safe, respectful, and responsible. Using the PBIS Rewards digital platform, all staff members—including teachers, office staff, custodians, support staff, and administrators—can recognize positive behavior by awarding points to students throughout the day.

Families can view real-time updates through the PBIS Family App, keeping them informed when their student earns rewards. Students may redeem their points in classroom stores or at the Panther Cart every other Friday, which features items such as brain puzzles, stress cubes, chapstick, earbuds, fidget rings, and PWL swag. Points can also be used for event participation or discounts (like the Pau-Wa-Luau and school dances) and for raffle entries to win fun prizes.

In addition to recognizing positive behavior, the PBIS Rewards system allows the school to efficiently track and communicate behavior referrals to families.
